Outdoor Track and Field Send Three to Finals

Headlined by Mike Bohlke's second-place finish in the 1,500m, the George Washington track & field team sent three student-athletes into tomorrow's finals at the Atlantic 10 Track Championship hosted by George Mason.
Bohlke clocked a 3:48.44, finishing just under a second off the top time set by Rhode Island's Maddox Jordan in the event, firmly placing him in the chase for gold during tomorrow's finals.
Nic Rodgers finished third with a time of 1:51.52 in the men's 800m, just .12 seconds off the top time during prelims. Rounding out GW's finals qualifiers was Haldey Mahoney, who clocked a 4:33.24 in the women's 1,500m, placing her seventh.
In Saturday's finals events, Megan Heidebrecht earned eighth place in the women's long jump, amassing a season-best 5.76 meters, while Janae Russell, finished ninth with 5.50 meters. Yehonata Heim tallied a 9:03.25 in the men's 3,000 steeplechase, finishing fourth among a field of 13, while Kaitlin Sereti (34:44.97) and Sarah Mitchell (34:45.45) finished sixth and seventh in the women's 10,000m, respectively.
Sunday's events are scheduled to kick off at 11:00 a.m., with the final race of the day set for 2:55 p.m. in Fairfax.
