GW Baseball Visits Towson on Tuesday

LEADING OFF: The George Washington baseball team will return to action with a visit to non-conference foe Towson on Tuesday afternoon. First pitch from Schuerholz Park is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT: GW went 2-3 last week, most recently taking one of three games at Davidson over the weekend. The Colonials also split a pair of non-conference contests last week at UMBC (W, 12-8) and at Virginia (L, 15-3).
DOUBLE UP: A pair of Colonials occupy the top two rankings in the Atlantic 10 for doubles. Junior Kevin Mahala paces the conference and ranks seventh in NCAA Division I with 15 two-baggers while classmate Bobby Campbell ranks second in the A-10 with 13.
HEATING UP: Campbell batted .588 (10-for-17) across five games last week with three doubles and five RBIs. He now ranks second on the team with a .331 batting average along with 13 doubles and 24 RBIs. The Olney, Maryland, native's 43 base hits are the in the Atlantic 10 entering Tuesday's game.
TOPPING THE TIGERS: GW has won two in a row over Towson after sweeping the home-and-home series last season. The Colonials won, 8-4, in Towson last season before returning home to complete the sweep at The Tuck with a 9-4 victory. GW leads the all-time series, 34-8-2, and is 6-2 against the Tigers in the last eight meetings.
SCOUTING TOWSON: The Tigers improved to 14-18 overall and 5-1 in the Colonial Athletic Conference (CAA) after sweeping a home series against James Madison last weekend. Towson is batting .287 as a team and is led by Brady Policelli, who is hitting .387 with a team-best four home runs and 25 RBIs.
