RETURN HOME: The George Washington baseball team returns home to host Monmouth for a three-game series at Tucker Field at Barcroft Park. Game one on Friday marks the fifth at home in the middle of a 9-of-10 game stretch.
Six players recorded multiple-hit games, led by junior Kevin Mahala (4-for-6, three doubles, six RBIs) and sophomore Matt Cosentino (4-for-7, three runs, five RBIs).
HOT HITTING: The Colonials went 18-for-42 (.428) at the plate in Wednesday's win over Maryland to raise their team batting average to .299, a mark that ranks second overall in the Atlantic 10.
Sophomore Mark Osis is batting at a .455 clip, a mark that leads the A-10 entering the weekend. Junior Andrew Selby ranks sixth in the league with a .372 average.
MAHALA IS MASHING: Mahala drove in a career-high six RBIs in the win over Maryland on Wednesday - the highest RBI total by a GW player since Tom Zebroski drove in six runs on April 23, 2010.
Mahala leads the Colonials and ranks second in the A-10 with 16 RBIs. He also paces the conference and ranks second in NCAA Division I with eight doubles.
He also has collected two home runs and one triple for a team-leading 11 extra-base hits.
BOBBY THE BULL: Senior Bobby LeWarne has lived up to his billing as the staff ace through the season's first 12 games. He has a 1-0 record with a 3.00 ERA in three starts and has struck out 14 batters across 21.0 innings of work.
