GW Women's Tennis Visits UMBC on Friday

WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's tennis team returns to the court on Friday as the Colonials visit Atlantic Region foe UMBC for a 7 p.m. contest in Baltimore.
The Colonials (1-0) come off a dominating season-opening victory, 7-0, at Howard last Friday, where GW did not drop a set on the day.
Sophomore Marie-Louise Decamps and freshman Sara Grubac posted a perfect afternoon at Howard, pairing up for a 6-0 doubles triumph at the No. 2 position before tallying matching, 6-0, 6-0, wins in singles play at the Nos. 3 and 4 slots, respectively.
Juniors Taylor Nederlander and Allison Hansen partnered to clinch the doubles point for GW, coming out on top, 6-4, in the top spot. Nederlander later won her fifth-flight doubles bout.
Sophomore Teodora Radosavljevic - the Atlantic Region's No. 18 ranked singles player - paired with rookie Victoria Kogan for a third-flight doubles win, 7-5, before taking a top spot win in singles action. Kogan went on to clinch the match for the Colonials with her No. 6 spot win. Senior Lana Robins also tallied a victory in second-flight singles action on the day.
The Retrievers enter the match with an 0-4 record, most recently falling to No. 48 Virginia Tech and No. 31 Rice last weekend.
The UMBC duo of Hanna Victorsson and Charlotte Tonjann entered 2016 with a No. 9 Atlantic Region ranking after tallying a 4-0 record in the fall season.
First serve of Friday's match is set for 7 p.m. at the Retriever Tennis Complex.
