GW Golf to Tee it up in Elon Phoenix Invitational

THIS WEEK: GW will play in its penultimate tournament of the 2016 fall season on Monday and Tuesday at the Elon Phoenix Invitational in Burlington, North Carolina.
FORMAT: The 54-hole tournament features 36 holes on Monday, with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start, and a final round of 18 holes on Tuesday with tee times starting at 8 a.m. Live stats can be followed here: https://www.birdiefire.com/tournament/29824/
ELON PHOENIX INVITATIONAL: The par 71, 6,867-yard Alamance Country Club in Burlington, North Carolina will host the tournament. Teeing it up for GW will be junior Vince Palazzolo, redshirt junior Christian Cichan, sophomore Logan Lowe, and seniors Lucas Farmer and Michael Heda.
THE COMPETITION: Appalachian State, Delaware, Drexel, East Carolina, Elon, Gardner-Webb, George Mason, High Point, Loyola (MD), Mount Olive, Presbyterian College, Radford, Western Carolina and Wofford.
LAST TIME OUT: GW finished 13th at the NC State Wolfpack Invitational on Oct. 3-4. Lowe and Cichan led the Colonials by each shooting 8-over par 221. Cichan closed with a 1-over par 72 in both the second and third rounds to bounce back from an opening round 77, while Lowe shot 73-72-76 to finish tied for 49th.
LOOKING AHEAD: GW will have a quick turnaround as it wraps its fall season with the ODU/OBX Invitational in the Outer Banks, North Carolina, Oct. 23-25.
