SKILLMAN, N.J. - The George Washington women's tennis team has been named a 2015 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team, the organization announced. Sophomores Teodora Radosavljevic and Marie-Louise Decamps, juniors Allison Hansen and Grace Egger and seniors Egle Jakuciunaite and Lana Robins were also named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
The ITA Academic Team award marks the fourth consecutive honor for the program. Jakuciunaite and Robins earn Scholar-Athlete accolades for the third time and Hansen picks up her second nod, while Egger, Radosavljevic and Decamps earn the award for the first time in their careers.
"We expect a lot from our student-athletes both athletically and academically," said Head Coach Greg Munoz. "GW has exceptional student-atheltes and terrific academic support, and I am proud of what our players accomplish year after year."
A total of 451 teams - including both men's and women's squads - around the nation garnered the academic team award for possessing a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or higher. ITA Scholar-Athletes must possess a GPA of at least 3.50 while being enrolled for at least two semesters at their current school.
An Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team selection in 2015, Radosavljevic led the Colonials with an overall 19-10 singles record in a breakout freshman campaign. The finance major earned a spot on the Fall 2014 A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll while landing on the GW Athletics Academic Dean's List.
A pre-business administration student, Decamps posted a strong freshman season with an overall 11-8 solo mark. The rising sophomore landed on the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for both the fall 2014 and spring 2015 semesters in addition to earning GW Athletics Academic Dean's List honors.
Hansen put together a solid sophomore season with a 7-12 overall singles record. The biomedical engineering major earned a spot on the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for both the fall 2014 and spring 2015 semesters while being named to the GW Athletics Academic Dean's List.
A business administration major, Egger landed on both the Spring 2015 A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and the GW Athletics Academic Dean's List while posting an overall 9-12 solo mark and ranking second on the squad with a 10-13 doubles record.
Jakuciunaite and Robins were each named to the GW Athletics Academic Dean's List in the fall 2014 semester while landing on the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll. Robins earned her second A-10 Academic All-Conferece nod in 2015 and garnered the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award from the Elliot School of International Affairs for the second consecutive year.
