2015 Women's Tennis Fall Schedule
WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's tennis team will compete in six tournaments during the fall 2015 season, third-year head coach Greg Munoz announced on Tuesday.
The six tournaments marks the most contests entered in over 10 years.
"We have added more tournaments to the fall schedule to give each level of player a chance to compete with expectations of success in their respective tournaments," said Head Coach Munoz. "Our team has a lot of depth and many players need opportunities to earn their spot in dual matches come January."
The Colonials open the fall campaign at the Elon Invitational in North Carolina, from Sept. 11-13, where players from more than 10 programs will compete. The Buff and Blue will then visit Newport News, Virginia, for a Christopher Newport-hosted tournament in a hidden dual format of play from Sept. 19-21 before traveling to Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia, for the Hokie Invitational from Sept. 25-27.
GW will compete in a pair of tournaments from Oct. 9-11 as the squad will be represented at the UVa Invitational in Charlottesville, Virginia, while the remaining student-athletes participate in the Navy Invitational in Annapolis, Maryland.
The fall season concludes at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships hosted by Liberty in Lynchburg, Virginia. The winners from the Regional Championships will earn automatic bids to the ITA/USTA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in November.
