GW Baseball Hosts William & Mary in Regular-Season Finale

WASHINGTON - The George Washington baseball team will conclude the 2015 regular season when it welcomes William & Mary to Tucker Field at Barcroft Park for a three-game series beginning with a doubleheader on Thursday.
GW (29-18) is one victory away from reaching the 30-win plateau for the 12th time in program history and the first time since 2005. The Colonials enter the weekend with the second-most overall wins in the Atlantic 10.
The Colonials are idle from conference play this weekend after concluding their A-10 schedule with a 13-10 record. A number of games will played this weekend around the league with playoff implications. The top seven teams in the standings at the conclusion of this week's games will advance to the Atlantic 10 Championship, May 20-23, at Tucker Field.
GW continues to have one of the top-ranked pitching staffs in the Atlantic 10 entering the weekend. The Colonials' ERA of 3.40 ranks second in the conference and 48th nationally.
The Colonials also lead the Atlantic 10 and rank 11th in NCAA Division I with a team fielding percentage of .977.
Sophomore Joey Bartosic continues to lead the team in a number of offensive categories, including batting average (.341), on-base percentage (.391), runs (34) and hits (63) and he shares the team lead with 18 stolen bases. Bartosic also paces the Colonials with 21 multiple-hit games.
Sophomore Andrew Selby, who has reached base in 27 consecutive games dating back to March 29, ranks second in the A-10 and fifth in the nation with seven triples on the season. He also paces the Colonials in extra-base hits (23), doubles (14), slugging percentage (.523) and total bases (81) while batting .303 through 47 games.
Sophomores Eli Kashi (.306) and Bobby Campbell (.303) are both batting above the .300 mark this season. Kashi has totaled six doubles, one triple, one home run and 23 RBIs while Campbell leads the team with 28 RBIs in addition to 11 doubles and 16 runs scored.
Freshman Robbie Metz is batting .297 while posting a 3-3 record and 3.09 ERA on the mound across 11 appearances.
Sophomore Eddie Muhl continues to lead the nation with 16 saves this season. He is both the GW and Atlantic 10 record holder for single-season saves and is tied for GW's all-time record with Bryan Beggs ('01). Muhl boasts a 1.85 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 24.1 innings.
Senior Craig LeJeune has also been a stalwart at the back end of the bullpen, pitching to a 1.66 ERA in 21.2 innings. He has tallied 29 strikeouts against just five walks.
William & Mary is 20-27 overall and concluded Colonial Athletic Conference play last weekend with a record of 10-14 after dropping two-of-three against Northeastern.
