GW Baseball Hosts Quinnipiac This Weekend

Following the postponement of game one on Friday and Saturday's doubleheader, GW (1-1) and Quinnipiac (0-0) will play a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 12:00 p.m.
The Colonials opened their 2015 season by splitting a pair of games with NJIT last weekend at Tucker Field. GW won the first game of a doubleheader, 5-1, before falling in the nightcap, 6-2.
Freshman Robbie Metz was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on Monday after collecting four hits, two runs and a pair of stolen bases in the two games.
Sophomore Joey Bartosic paces GW's offense with a .556 batting average (5-for-9) through the first two games of the season while classmate Bobby Campbell ranks second on the team with four hits.
Junior Bobby LeWarne led the Colonials to a 5-1 victory in the season opener, pitching seven innings of one-run ball, allowing one unearned run on three hits with six strikeouts. The Des Moines, Iowa, native is slated to start game one of this weekend's series.
GW and Quinnipiac last met early in the 2013 season, when the Bobcats won two of three at Tucker Field.
