WASHINGTON - The GW women's tennis squad returns home for matches against Howard and No. 46 Harvard over the weekend at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center.
The Colonials (3-2) split last weekend's matches with a victory over Navy (5-3) on Saturday and a loss to Georgetown (4-1) on Sunday. Freshman Marie-Louise Decamps notched a trio of wins as she defeated both of her second-flight singles opponents in straight sets and paired up with junior Lana Robins to nab a doubles triumph over the Hoyas.
The Bison (1-3) come off a loss to James Madison (4-2) before a mid-week matchup with Navy was cancelled due to inclement weather.
The Crimson (4-3) claim the ITA's No. 46 team ranking but most recently fell to No. 5 California (5-1), who holds the nation's No. 1 singles player. Harvard marks the first ranked opponent for the Buff and Blue since GW dropped a 5-2 decision to No. 63 UC Santa Barbara on March 15, 2013.
First serve at Saturday's match against Howard will be at 9 a.m., while Sunday's action against Harvard begins at 11 a.m. For information and directions to the Southeast Tennis Center, click here.
