WASHINGTON - The upcoming three-game series between the George Washington baseball team and Lafayette at Barcroft Park has been altered.
The series finale on Sunday has not been altered and will take place as scheduled at 12:00 p.m.
GW will play 15 of its next 18 games at home starting on Saturday.
The Colonials returned home to Barcroft Park on Thursday afternoon and fell to Delaware State, 7-5. Four different players recorded multiple hits for the Colonials led by freshman Bobby Campbell's three-hit, two-RBI performance.
Senior Owen Beightol paces GW's offense, batting .450 with one double, one home run and three RBIs through the first five games of the season. The Richmond, Va., native also leads the team with four multiple-hit games and has hit safely in all five games this season.
Campbell ranks second on the team with a .353 batting average and three RBIs while classmate Cody Bryant is batting .308 with two runs scored.
The Colonials will start RHP Aaron Weisberg (0-0, 2.57 ERA) in Saturday's first game followed by RHP Jacob Williams (0-1, 8.31 ERA). RHP Luke Staub (0-0, 2.25 ERA) will start the series finale on Sunday.
