After rain delayed the start of competition, all teams completed the first round of 18 holes but could not get through the second round. The Colonials played through 32 holes on Monday and carded a combined total of 28-over par at the par-70 6,718-yard course.
GW shot a 12-over 292 through Round 1 and a 16-over through the first 14 holes of Round 2 to sit in 11th place in the 17-team field, comprised of host Appalachian State, Brevard, Elon, Gardner-Webb, Georgetown, High Point, James Madison, Longwood, Lynn, Mount St. Mary's, Presbyterian, Stetson, Tennessee State, UNC Pembroke, Western Carolina and Wofford. James Madison is in first with an 8-over 288, followed closely by Western Carolina - which is ranked No. 80 in NCAA Division I by Golfstat - with a score of 9-over 289.
Sophomore Jack Persons paces the Colonials with an even-par score through 32 holes. The
Sophomore Jonathan Dresnick is in a tie for 57th with a total of nine-over par after he shot a score of 3-over 73 in Round 1. Freshman Carlos Pena is tied for 73rd after shooting an 8-over 78 in the first round for a total of 13-over through 32 holes.
The remaining holes of Round 2 will be completed on Tuesday morning and the final 18 holes of competition will be played shortly after. Fans can follow live scoring of the Donald Ross Intercollegiate here.
