ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The George Washington women's tennis team completed Day 2 of the fourth annual Navy Blue & Gold Invitational on Saturday with four Colonials' singles players earning their way to the semifinal matches of their respective flights at the Midshipmen's Brigade Sports Complex.

Senior Dorota Lysienia moved through the first round of the Flight C back draw by default then defeated Vivian Chau from Navy, 6-3, in the semifinals to advance to Sunday's final.

In Flight A singles, junior Leah Pascarella defeated Darien Sears from Navy, 6-1, 6-0, in the quarterfinal round, but fell to LIU's Sanne Louwers, 6-3, 6-3, in the semifinals. Senior Mimi Hamling advanced to the semifinals of Flight B with a 5-7, 6-2 (7) win over Andrea Samlin of Towson, but she was eliminated with a 6-2, 6-1 loss to Navy's Logan Antill.

Junior Isabella Escobar won her Flight D quarterfinal match over Towson's Ariel Burke by set scores of 3-6, 6-4 (7), then dropped a 6-2, 6-3 decision to Cara Wirth of James Madison in the semifinals. Rookie Christina Carpenter defeated Cailey Easdale of Towson, 6-2, 6-2, tehn fell to Kimmy Borza of Pittsburgh, 6-3, 7-6 (4).

In other Flight A action, freshman Lana Robins fell to Navy's Gabby Winter, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (3), while classmate Stephanie Wei fell to UMBC's Isabel Aldunate in Flight B play, 6-7 (4), 6-1 (8). Rookie Egle Jakuciunaite fell in Flight C singles, 6-4, 6-4, to Mikaela Carlson of Navy.

In the Flight A doubles back draw, the duo of Hamling and Robins defeated Ariel Burke and Cailey Easdale of Towson, 8-1. The freshman pair of Carpenter and Jakuciunaite dropped their Flight B doubles finals match to JMU's Ruxandra Andriescu and Jacqueline Palmucci.

Lysienia will be the lone Colonials' player to compete on Sunday with a back draw consolation final match set for 9 a.m.
