WASHINGTON - George Washington senior shortstop Tom Zebroski, the 2010 Atlantic 10 Player and Student-Athlete of the Year, has been named a Louisville Slugger All-America third-team selection, it was announced by Collegiate Baseball newspaper.
Zebroski finished the 2010 regular season with a .429 overall average to lead the A-10 and also led the Conference with a .479 average in league games. He also paced the A-10 with a .733 slugging percentage, which included an .838 percentage in Conference play. He also led the league with 18 home runs, 103 hits, and 75 runs scored. Zebroski fell just one hit high of tying the all-time single-season Conference hits record of 104.
Zebroski finished his decorated Colonials career as the all-time leader in runs (213) and hits (299) and also finished second all-time in games played (213), at bats (841) and total bases (455). He broke three single-season records in his 2010 campaign, including the previous hits record by 11, with 103 hits on the year. He scored 75 runs and recorded 176 total bases, which broke the previous records of 71 runs and 168 total bases.
The Port Washington, NY, native is the third Colonial in four seasons to earn third-team honors, following Sean Rockey in 2009 and Michael Parker in 2007.
