ARLINGTON, VA - The George Washington University baseball team dropped the series opener to Saint Louis 13-3 on a damp Barcroft Park field Friday to drop their A-10 record to 8-10. Junior Bobby Lucas got the start for the Colonials in place of Eric Cantrell and allowed one earned run in 3 2/3 innings in the loss.
Redshirt junior Sean Rockey led the Colonials offense with two hits and an RBI.
A seven run Billiken fourth inning was the Colonials undoing as that was all the offense Saint Louis needed for the victory. Defensive miscues also plagued the Colonials, as three George Washington errors led to 10 unearned runs for Saint Louis.
The Colonials return to the field tomorrow, when they face off against the same Billiken team at 1:00 p.m. George Washington has not named a starter for the contest.
