TERRE HAUTE, IN. - George Washington redshirt sophomore Megan Hogan capped off her incredible first season at George Washington and finished 96th in a field comprised of the 252 top runners in the nation Monday at the Division I Women's Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Ind.
It was a damp and windy day at Indiana State University where the race was held, but Hogan was able to rise above it and finish in 21:10.6. This was only four seconds off of her personal best time, which she ran earlier this season. She was the top finisher out of all the A-10 runners and ran a strong race throughout the day.
Hogan also became the first George Washington cross country runner to compete in the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships after qualifying in the Mid-Atlantic Regional last weekend.
"Megan ran great for the whole race today," said Head Coach Brian Beil. "She really has come a long way this year and today was the culmination of all of that. She competed against the top runners in the country and ran a very good race. She can build on this experience for next year and hopefully be back at Nationals and keep improving."
