Colonials Fall To La Salle 67-49

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Steven Smith scored a season-high 22 points to lead La Salle to a 67-49 victory over George Washington.
Jermaine Thomas added 17 points for the Explorers (7-5, 1-1 A10), while Dzaflo Larkai had a season-high 12 rebounds.
Chris Monroe, scoring in double figures for his 27th straight game, had 21 points for George Washington (6-7, 0-2). Mike Hall had 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Colonials completed only 14 of 61 shots (23 percent), made 3-of-28 from 3-point range (10.7 percent) and had only four assists in the game.
La Salle never trailed, and held a 32-26 lead at halftime. Leading 37-30 with 16:36 to play, the Explorers went on a 19-7 run - 11 of the points by Thomas - and took their biggest lead, 56-37, on a Thomas 3-pointer at the 7:43 mark.
With 1,932 career points, Monroe moved into second place on George Washington's all-time scoring list behind Joe Holup's 2,226-point tally.
