High School: Averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds a game as a junior in 1997-98 in helping to lead Good Counsel to 22-8 record under coach Joe McCall. Monroe helped Good Counsel to the Maryland Private School title in 1998. He was a Street & Smith[apos]s honorable mention All-America and was named MVP of the Charlie Webber Invitational in `99... also an All-County player as a sophomore and a junior as selected by the Montgomery County Journal and honorable mention All-Metro by the Washington Post in 1998. Monroe competed for the gold medal winning East team at the 1998 USA Basketball Men[apos]s Youth Development Camp at the U.S. Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO, in the summer of `99... had already played two games at Smith Center where Good Counsel split a pair of showdowns with local powerhouse DeMatha in 1999.
