WASHINGTON -Â A three-year Georgia Bulldog with 87 games of career experience, Dylan James will join George Washington men's basketball for 2026-27, head coach Chris Caputo announced on Friday.
"Dylan provides great size and athleticism to our front court," Caputo said. "In addition to his extensive postseason experience at UGA, what really stood out were his leadership qualities and approach to competition that he brings daily."
James played on back-to-back NCAA Tournament teams at Georgia and averaged 3.9 ppg and 2.9 rpg during his three-year career with the Bulldogs. In 33 games this past season, he posted career highs in scoring (4.5 ppg) and rebounding (3.8 rpg) in addition to 23 steals and 19 blocks in 15.0 mpg.Â
The 6-9 rising senior has tallied eight double-digit efforts in his career including a career-best 16 points vs. Florida in January in one of his two starts this past season and also tallied his first career double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds vs. Texas A&M.Â
Off the court, he is a two-time SEC All-Academic selection, a two-time recipient of the Sam & Lara Holmes Scholarship and the Tom and Jeannette Greeson Scholarship honoree this past year. Originally from Winter Haven, Fla, James was a consensus top-100 recruit and a top-20 power forward in his class. His three older siblings all also played college basketball.
2026-27 Season Tickets for GW men's basketball are on sale now, starting as low as $70. The Revolutionaries are coming off back-to-back postseason appearances and the program's first postseason win in nine years at Utah Valley in the opening round of the NIT.
