Conden Named Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington junior Greg Conden (Owego, NY/Owego Free Academy) has been named the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week the conference office has announced. This is his first honor of the season.
On Saturday, March 16 Conden notched his fourth win of the season against the Iona Gaels. He pitched a complete seven inning game, a five-hit shutout as the Colonials beat the Gaels 6-0. He managed to strike out five, while not issuing a walk.
Conden is now 4-0 for the season. He has appeared in six games, pitching for 32.2 innings. He has fanned 21, while walking 11 of 116 batters. His first win was against Norfolk State on February 12, with a final score 12-2. Three games later, on February 17, he notched another win against UNC Greensboro when the Colonials overcame two previous losses in the series to win 5-2. His third win was against Hartford on March 9, the first game in the Colonials sweep of the Hawks, final score 8-1. Conden's ERA for the season is 1.93.
The Colonials next play at the University of Delaware today, Tuesday, March 19, at 3:00 p.m. Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 20, GW takes on Towson at 2:30 p.m. for the second time this year. The Colonials won their first game against Towson 22-6. This weekend, GW baseball will continue at home against Saint Joseph's. A doubleheader is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, while a single game will be played at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 24.
