WASHINGTON, DC (March 20, 2001) - Junior Jason Baker (Accokeek, MD/ DeMatha) has been named the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week the conference office has announced.

Baker has been the Colonials best pitcher through the early part of the season. He has registered wins in two of his three starts, posting a 2.38 ERA on the season in 22.2 innings. Baker pitched eight scoreless innings while striking out six in a 1-0 victory over James Madison on March 8. Baker also pitched a complete game seven innings in GWs first win of the season against UNC Wilmington on February 17. He has 17 strikeouts and three walks on the season and has held opponents to a .173 batting average.

Baker will get the start this afternoon against Navy as the Colonials travel to Annapolis, MD to face the Midshipmen beginning at 3:00 p.m.
