Golf Places Fifth at Temple Invitational

MOOSIC, PA (Oct. 8) - GW's Thomas Blankvoort shot a two-under-par 68 Saturday to finish second at the 36-hole Temple Invitational. Blankvoort's score propelled GW to a fifth-place finish at par-71, 6,585-yard Glenmaura National Golf Course in Moosic, PA. Blankvoort's 142 (73-69) placed him second, just three strokes off the pace set by Temple's John Rusk (68-71--139). The graduate student from Curacao, Netherlands, was the low Colonial for the third straight tournament.
As a team, the Colonials placed fifth (308-304-612) in the 14-team field. GW was 23 strokes behind Maryland's 589. Temple was second with 590.
Junior Michael Ball (Potomac, MD) was the second-lowest Colonial as he tied for 10th with a two-round total 150 (74-76).
