Baseball Team Earns Berth To A-10 Tournament

The Colonials will meet the East division's top seed St. Bonaventure in the opening game of the tournament on Thursday, May 18 at 4:05 p.m. GW, who shared the Atlantic 10 West Division title with Virginia Tech, will be seeded the West division's #2 seed by virtue of the tie-breaker in which Virginia Tech took the season series, two games to one.
Defending champion and West division's #1seed Virginia Tech will take on the East division's #2 seeded Massachussetts on Thursday at 7:35 p.m.. The Hokies enter the tournament with a 31-23-2 record overall and 16-5 in Atlantic 10 play, while Minuteman are 11-9-1 in Atlantic 10 action and 24-20-1 overall.
The Colonials, back in the tournament for the first time since 1998, enter the weekend with a 36-19 record. GW's 36 wins breaks the school's previous record of 33 wins set in 1998.
Championship play continues on Friday, May 19 with the loser's bracket play at 12:35 p.m. and the winner's bracket play at 4:05 p.m. The winner of Game 3 will then meet the loser of Game 4 at 7:35 p.m. on Friday. The title game will be played at 12:05 p.m on Saturday, May 20. Should a seventh game be need, it will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.
