Washington, DC (April 25) - George Washington's Greg Conden (Owego, NY/Owego Free Academy) has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for baseball, the league has announced.

Conden earned the award for his efforts in the Colonials' 17-3 win against La Salle University. Conden pitched six and a third innings, allowing no earned runs on only five hits while striking out six Explorer batters. For the season, Conden is now a perfect 7-0 on the mound and 4-0 in A-10 action. Conden has pitched 69 innings on the year, and has only allowed 25 earned-runs and struck out 68 batters. Conden owns a stingy 3.26 ERA and a 2.87 ERA in conference play.

The Colonials return to action this weekend when they host conference rival Xavier University in a three-game series at Barcroft Park in Arlington, VA. A double-header is scheduled to begin at noon on Friday, and the final game of the series is set to begin at noon on Saturday.
