GW Baseball Takes Two From St. Bonaventure

In the first game, junior Adam Belicic (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) threw a complete game shut-out to earn his fourth win of the season. Belicic struck-out eight batters and only allowed five hits to shut down the Bonnies' offense. The win improves Belicic's record to 4-4.
The Colonials' got the only run of the game in the first inning when senior Matt Walker (Gibsonia, PA/U. of South Carolina) singled home freshman Travis Crowder (Manassas, VA/Osbourn), who reached on a bunt single, for the 1-0 lead.
In the second game, the Colonials rallied from a 4-0 deficit in the first inning to win 6-5 in 11 innings. Sophomore Mike Bassett (Paramus, NJ/Paramus) doubled home the game winner to lead the Colonials to victory.
The Bonnies jumped-out to an early 4-0 lead in the first on RBI singles by Jason Milleisen (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place) and Joe Cappelmann (Kings Park, NY/St. Anthony's).
The Colonials countered with one run in the first and third innings, and two in the fifth. Junior Dan Rouhier (McLean, VA/St. Alban's) delivered a double to right center in the fifth to plate two runs, and bring the Colonials within one run at 5-4. The Colonials tied the game in the sixth inning on sophomore Matt Krimmel's (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland) RBI single. The game stayed tied until Bassett's RBI double in the 11th.
Junior Bryan Beggs (Somerset, PA/Somerset) pitched five and a third innings in relief to pick up his fourth win of the season. Beggs allowed no runs and struck-our four to improve his record to 4-2 on the season.
The Colonials and the Bonnies conclude their three-game series tomorrow at Barcroft Park in Arlington, VA at 12:00 p.m.
