Kevin DeMille enters his fifth season at GW, and fourth as an assistant coach, in 2020-21. He previously served as the Assistant Director of Basketball Operations during the 2016-17 season.
In his first season as assistant coach, DeMille helped the Colonials to the Atlantic 10 Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. He worked primarily with the post players in 2017-18, including the A-10's 6th Woman of the Year, Kelli Prange.
In 2018-19, DeMille helped develop the team's top post options in underclassmen Neila Luma and Kayla Mokwuah. Under his guidance, Luma increased her scoring output by 3.3 ppg from her freshman to sophomore year. Mokwuah blossomed in league play, increasing her ppg output by more than two points against league foes.
In 2019-20, DeMille once again aided GW's posts, including the trio of Alexandra Maund, Kayla Mokwuah and Mayowa Taiwo, who all ranked among the A-10's top seven players in regards to field goal percentage. Taiwo earned All-Rookie honors during her initial campaign under DeMille's watch.
Off the court, DeMillie is the team's liaison with the marketing and communication departments and oversees the team's social media and marketing efforts. His additional responsibilities include assisting in all areas of recruiting, opponent scouting and player development
DeMille has worked closely with Jen Rizzotti over the past four years. Prior to his first year at GW, he served as the video coordinator for the Women's National Team at the 2014 FIBA World Championship in Istanbul, Turkey, where Rizzotti was an assistant coach. The pair was also on staff for the gold-medal winning Women's National Team in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janerio, Brazil.
Prior to arriving at GW, DeMille spent seven years working with the University of Connecticut. He spent his four undergraduate years as a practice player and student manager before serving one semester as a graduate assistant. He was then hired as the Assistant Director of Operations. He played a key role behind the scenes on five National Championship teams during his tenure, including seven Final Four squads.
He earned his degree in Social Science of Sport from UConn in 2013 and a Master's degree in Media and Strategic Communication at GW's School of Media and Public Affairs in 2020.
