Sarah Jane Leder joined the GW lacrosse staff as a volunteer assistant coach in January 2015.
Coach Leder joins the Colonials following a four-year career at Mount St. Mary's, where she was the starting goalkeeper and team captain as a senior in 2013. That season she was named to the Northeast Conference All-Tournament Team, as well as the NEC Academic Honor Roll. Coach Leder finished her career sixth all-time at the Mount with 160 saves after ranking in the top 30 in the nation in saves her senior season.
"We are so fortunate to have Sarah Jane as our volunteer assistant," said Coach Coyne. "She is a very dedicated individual who is passionate about lacrosse. Sarah Jane was taught by many of the best coaches in the game during college. Exposure to those viewpoints has given her great ideas about motivating the team to succeed."
During the summer of 2011, Coach Leder traveled to Uganda to serve as a coach with Fields of Growth International. While in Uganda she trained players for the first national lacrosse tournament, worked in the village of Kindu, ministered to children and worked on building a school.
Coach Leder graduated from Mount St. Mary's in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in economics and minors in mathematics and theology, and she obtained a master's of business administration from Mount St. Mary's in 2013. She currently works with the George Washington University through the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS).
