Andrew Lundt joined the George Washington University Athletic Department staff in November 2013. Now in his eleventh year at GW, Lundt serves as the Associate Athletic Director for Operations, Events, and Facilities in which he is responsible for overseeing operations and management of all athletic events and facilities on the Foggy Bottom Campus, Mt. Vernon Campus, and at Barcroft Park in Arlington, Va. Additionally, Lundt and his team help drive revenue generation for the department through memberships, facility rentals, external events and university partnerships.
He is responsible for and serves as the department’s primary capital project manager, overseeing key renovations and additions across all athletic facilities. This includes $8M+ in Smith Center renovations, upgrading the arena audio and video experience, remodeling multiple locker rooms and club spaces, replacing and updating the arena floor and other improvements that positively impact the user and fan experience. Under his leadership, GW’s athletic facilities on the Mt. Vernon campus have also seen marked improvements including multiple field and locker room replacements, softball field lighting, gym & pool upgrades and a multitude of safety enhancements.
In 2018, Lundt led the $4M+ expansion and renovation of the GW baseball field and amenities, which included a new clubhouse, multiple indoor batting cage facilities, turf replacement, and in 2020, the installation of a 1,280 sq. ft. videoboard.
Lundt played a key role in the design and approval process of the 10-year Mt. Vernon Campus plan, and serves on multiple campus committees dedicated to safety, emergency preparedness & response, and corrective action planning. Currently, he is a lead member of the GW Athletic Facilities Master Plan team, launched in 2024, to revitalize the student-athlete experience through improved and innovative facilities.
Lundt serves as the sport supervisor for Women’s Basketball, Golf and Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving, while also serving on the department’s senior leadership team, DEIB taskforce, and is the primary liaison with multiple departments on campus.
He has been a member of the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) for over a decade and also has had the opportunity to participate in the DI-AAA mentoring program, Sport Administrator Leadership Institute, and NACDA’s Senior Administrators Institute.
Prior to joining the team at GW, Lundt worked on the athletic facilities team at the University of Iowa where he helped execute large scale events including multiple B1G championships, the Olympic Wrestling trials, and all home intercollegiate events.
Lundt graduated from the University of Iowa with a BBA in Finance and an MA in Sports Management. He and his wife, Megan, reside in Falls Church, VA with their dog, Boden.
