The Lutherville, Maryland, native was an All-MEAC performer and an ABCA/Rawlings All-Atlantic Region pick as a sophomore in 2012. He appeared in 174 games over his career at NCCU and batted .269 during his tenure with 103 RBI.
"Troy is a great addition to our staff and will be a superb mentor to our players," said Ritchie. "He was an All-Conference infielder at North Carolina Central and went into coaching right after graduating where he excelled as a graduate assistant coach. He has a diverse skill set as a player and as the Director of Operations for USA Baseball where he helped shape the young men that comprise a number of national teams. This is the next step in his coaching career and we are happy to have him on board to help develop our student-athletes as players and high-quality young men."
