Joey Friedman joined the GW baseball staff in April 2023. Friedman comes to GW with a wealth of experience in the game, most recently serving as the head JV coach at King George High School in King George, Va. He also has high school coaching experience at Mountain View High School in Stafford, Va., from 2013-18.
Friedman, a former college player at Cal State Monterey Bay, also played professionally for three seasons in the Pecos League with the Roswell Invaders and White Sands Pupfish, where he was a two-time All-Star.
Following college, Friedman began his own baseball instruction company in Fredericksburg, Va., and has been organizing and leading youth clinics for the last 12 years. He was also the lead supervisor of instructors at Starting Lineup in Fredericksburg and is the founder and president of the Karen Friedman Memorial Baseball Camp for a Cure, having raised over $100,000 in the last decade to fund scholarships and support cancer research.
