Softball Throws Back for 2K Day vs. UMES; Faces League-Leading Ramblers in Chicago

GW softball looks to carry its momentum into four games this week. The Revolutionaries first host their penultimate midweek contest on Wednesday (3:00 p.m.), welcoming UMES to the GW Softball Field for 2K throwback day, before traveling to Chicago for a weekend set against top-ranked Loyola Chicago on Saturday (1:00 p.m. ET doubleheader) and Sunday (1:00 p.m. ET). Game one Saturday and Sunday's game at Loyola Chicago will be carried on ESPN+.
A-10 STANDINGS UPDATE
GW's success from its 2-1 series win over Saint Joseph's catapulted the Revolutionaries from sixth to third place at 8-7 in a tightly-contested A-10. The Revolutionaries must remain above seventh place in order to qualify for the postseason, and are currently one game up on the seventh place team Fordham (7-8).

GW pitcher/utility Cece Smith was announced as the A-10's Pitcher of the Week for her stellar pair of starts vs. Saint Joseph's.
ABOUT UMES | SCHEDULE | ROSTER | STATS
The Hawks enter play on Wednesday at 10-29 overall with a 2-13 mark in MEAC league games. UMES snapped a nine-game losing skid on Sunday, avoiding the sweep vs. South Carolina State in a 2-0 win. GW leads the all-time series vs. UMES, 5-1, including a 4-0 record over the Hawks in the last three seasons.

Loyola Chicago comes into the weekend at 20-19, leading the A-10 with a 12-3 conference record. The Ramblers have series sweeps this season against Dayton, Saint Joseph's and Rhode Island, all coming on the road. Loyola Chicago is 3-3 at home in conference, dropping its lone series of the year to Saint Louis before taking two of three vs. St. Bonaventure. GW trails the all-time series vs. Loyola Chicago, 5-4, however the Revolutionaries have won two of three series vs. the Ramblers since they joined the conference for the 2023 season.
