Smith Named A-10 Pitcher of the Week

GW pitcher/utility Cece Smith was named the A-10's Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced. This is Smith's third A-10 weekly award of the season, adding to her prior Pitcher of the Week (2/24) and Player of the Week (3/10) selections.
Smith started both of GW's wins last week, finishing with a 0.47 ERA over 15.0 IP as she allowed only one run all weekend to Saint Joseph's. Smith struck out nine batters, which included six punchouts in her two-hit, complete-game showing on Sunday, leading GW to clinch its third home series win in as many tries.
The junior from Atlanta is currently second in the A-10 with a 2.30 ERA, on pace for a new career-best mark.
Smith and the Revolutionaries host UMES for a midweek 2K-themed game on Wednesday (3:00 p.m.) at the GW Softball Field, then travel to Chicago for their next conference series at Loyola Chicago on Saturday (1:00 p.m. ET doubleheader) and Sunday (1:00 p.m. ET).
