GW softball picked up a midweek non-conference victory on Wednesday with a 4-0 win over UMES. The win boosted the Revolutionaries to 19-15 overall.
Chloe Greene and Sophia Torreso combined in the circle for the shutout, tossing a two-hit gem to limit UMES's attack. Greene made the start and earned her third win of 2026 with three Ks over 4.0 IP, before Torreso cleaned things up from the fifth inning on to earn her third save of 2026.
GW took the lead in the second inning on a Lucy Goodwin RBI double, and extended its advantage with a three-run fourth to create a comfortable gap. Goodwin led the offense on Wednesday with the only multi-hit game for either team.
GW hits the road this weekend for a three-game series at Loyola Chicago, starting with a doubleheader Saturday (1:00 p.m. ET) followed by the series finale Sunday (1:00 p.m. ET).
