WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference named four Revolutionaries to the 2026 A-10 Swimming & Diving All-Academic Teams on Friday. Olivia Paquette and Ava Topolewski were named on the women's team, while Ben Sosnowski and Michael Wood were named on the men's team.
To be nominated for the All-Academic Team, student-athletes must carry a 3.0 GPA or higher and be a significant contributor to the team. All four of GW's All-Academic student-athletes carry a 3.60 GPA or higher, and each secured at least one medal at last week's A-10 Championships.
Topolewski headlined her meet by securing an automatic qualification to the NCAA Championships from her gold-medal swim in the 1,650-yard freestyle (16:23.28). She secured gold in the mile for the fourth-consecutive year as she clinched her second-career trip to the national meet. Topolewski scored a women's team-high 51 points, as she also collected a silver medal in the 500-yard freestyle (4:45.78) and finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.25). It's Topolewski's first A-10 All-Academic award.
Paquette was GW's top women's diver at A-10s as she claimed a silver medal in the 3-meter (269.75) and a bronze in the 1-meter (277.40) on her way to being named to her third-straight A-10 All-Academic Team. The senior captured medals in seven of a total of eight events that she's competed in throughout her career, and will continue her final season on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards at NCAA Diving Zone A.
Wood, who is also continuing his season in the 1-meter and 3-meter events at NCAA Diving Zone A, earned bronze medals in both the 1-meter (314.50) and 3-meter (333.05) events at A-10s as GW's top men's diver. Wood now has three career medals at the A-10 Championships, and it is his first time being named to the A-10 All-Academic Team. Wood was also named to the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team this past winter for his contributions in the community.
Sosnowski won the 200-yard breaststroke (1:57.02) as he scored 49 points with A-final appearances in all three events he appeared in. Along with the 200 breaststroke, Sosnowski also finished in fourth place (3:54.71) and fifth place in the 200-yard IM (1:47.34). This is the second-straight year that Sosnowski has been named to the A-10 All-Academic Team.
