Softball Travels to Orlando for Charge on Classic

WASHINGTON — GW softball is heading to Orlando for five games at the Charge On Classic Friday-Sunday, hosted by UCF. GW will line up against Dartmouth, Florida A&M, Wagner and UCF, with all five games at the UCF Softball Complex and carried on ESPN+. GW's schedule this weekend has already shifted due to expected inclement weather. The most up-to-date schedule can be found below and on the schedule page.

SMITH NAMED A-10 PiOTW
GW junior pitcher Cece Smith was named the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week this past week. Smith made three appearances at the Coach Cooke Memorial without allowing an earned run over 13.1 IP. Smith recorded 13 strikeouts with just three walks as she picked up her first two wins of 2026.

DARTMOUTH | SCHEDULE | ROSTER | STATS
Dartmouth began its season last weekend with an 0-5 record. Dartmouth's start included three ranked losses, with two defeats to No. 6/7 Florida State and a third to No. 8/9 Alabama. Dartmouth finished last season at 17-21 (10-11 Ivy) with a final RPI of 188, falling short of the Ivy League Tournament. GW is 0-3 all-time against the Big Green.
FLORIDA A&M | SCHEDULE | ROSTER | STATS
Florida A&M enters the weekend at 8-7 overall. After a 28-20 (19-5 SWAC) 2025 regular season, the Rattlers came one win away from winning the SWAC Championship and clinching an NCAA Tournament appearance, but fell to Jackson State in the championship game, 3-1. Florida A&M finished last season with a final RPI of 167. GW leads the all-time series vs. Florida A&M, 1-0, after downing the Rattlers by a final of 12-2 in 2018.
WAGNER | SCHEDULE | ROSTER | STATS
Wagner started the season at 1-4 which included a 5-3 loss to A-10 foe Saint Louis. The Seahawks fell short of the postseason in 2025, finishing with a final record of 15-26 (10-11 NEC) and a final RPI of 269. GW leads the all-time series against Wagner, 1-0, with an 8-3 win in 2014.
UCF | SCHEDULE | ROSTER | STATS
UCF is 15-4 to begin 2026. The Knights were briefly ranked No. 25 in last week's D1Softball & Softball America polls, however they have since fallen out of both polls. UCF finished last season at 35-24-1 (12-12 Big 12), eventually falling to No. 10 Arizona in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Championship. UCF made the NCAA Championship with an at-large bid, eventually bowing out to No. 3 Texas in the regional final. This is the first all-time meeting between GW and UCF.
