Gymnastics Takes Second in Home Tri-Meet

WASHINGTON-Â GW gymnastics finished in second in Sunday's three-team field in front of its home crowd in the Smith Center. As a team, the Buff & Blue finished with a season-high 48.575 on bars. Competing against New Hampshire for the EAGL regular season head-to-head, GW fell to the Wildcats, 194.650-193.400, but ahead of the William & Mary Tribe, who finished with a 192.000.Â
Leading the way for the GW Revs were three event winners including senior Deana Sheremeta, who earned the afternoon's vault title with a career-best 9.825 in addition to claiming both the floor (9.875) and all-around (39.175) titles. Sheremeta's all-around finish also served as a new personal-best score. Sophomore Lola Montevago, the reigning EAGL Gymnast of the Week, was the top finisher on bars (9.875) and junior Brooke Izzo notched a season-high 9.850 on beam to win the event.Â
