Gymnastics Takes Third in Terrapin Quad on Opening Night

College Park, Md.- GW gymnastics opened its 2026 season in the Terrapin Quad on Friday night, finishing third overall (193.200). Guiding the Revolutionaries to the finish line were first-year Alison Mun and senior Deana Sheremeta, who each claimed individual event victories. Mun claimed the vault with a 9.875, while Sheremeta earned both the beam title (9.850) and the top nod in the all-around (39.025).
A GLANCE AT THE HIGHLIGHTS
- The host Terrapins claimed the night with a score of 195.700, followed by New Hampshire (194.500), GW (193.200) and Long Island (190.350).
- First-years Mun, Aspen Tucker, Emma Garner and Alexia Zakaryan each made their collegiate debut. Tucker competed in the all-around, earning a 38.300.
- Sophomore Lola Montevago competed all-around alongside Sheremeta and Tucker, finishing with a 39.000, behind a 9.825 on vault, tying her career-high. Montevago's finish in the all-around was good for second place in the competition.
- On floor, senior Catherine O'Rourke debuted the event, earning a 9.775. Tucker and Sheremeta each earned a 9.8 and 9.825 on the event, respectively.
