Ashley Corpuz & Anna Reed to be included in Academic All-American consideration
WASHINGTON - The College Sport Communicators (CSC) released their Academic All-District team this week, including five members of GW softball on the list: Ashley Corpuz, Anna Reed, Allison Heffley, Cece Smith and Madi Mays.Â
This marks the second consecutive CSC Academic All-District selection for Corpuz and Reed (named once at Harvard), and the third straight for Heffley (named once at Harvard and once at GW) and Mays (named once at Harvard). It is the first Academic All-District selection for Smith in her first year of eligibility for the award. Â
Reed and Corpuz were also noted as having advanced to the CSC Academic All-American ballot, to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 17, 2025.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Softball teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be considered for the CSC Academic All-District team, student-athletes maintain a 3.50 cumulative GPA, while contributing to their team as a starter of significant reserve. First-years are not eligible for Academic All-District.Â
