LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Two of GW softball's most impactful student-athletes from the 2025 season, junior outfielder Ashley Corpuz and graduate pitcher Anna Reed, were selected to the 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) DI All-Region East Teams. Corpuz was selected to the NFCA All-Region East Second Team, while graduate pitcher Reed was named to the NFCA All-Region Third Team.
Corpuz wielded one of the most impactful bats in the region in 2025, and made GW history along the way. The Ladera Ranch, Calif., product raked 15 home runs, 16 doubles and 18 stolen bases over the course of the season, becoming the first student-athlete to bring that combination of power and speed to the Vern with 15 or more of each in one year. Corpuz wrapped up the year with jaw-dropping averages - including a 1.329 OPS, .514 OBP, .813 SLG, and .374 Avg. - establishing herself as one of the toughest outs on the East Coast. This marks Corpuz's first career NFCA All-Region selection, and her third end-of-season honor of 2025, joining her recognitions to the A-10 All-Conference First Team and the A-10 All-Academic Team.
Reed earned another honor for her outstanding graduate season on the Vern. The graduate transfer from San Luis Obispo, Calif., by way of Harvard, earned her second career NFCA All-Region Third Team selection after leading the Revolutionaries and the A-10 in the regular season with a 2.15 ERA. As the leader of the A-10's top pitching staff, Reed finished the year with a program-best six complete-game shutouts and with an astounding 125/34 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Reed closed the year as one of the premier pitchers along the East Coast, and added the NFCA honor to her list of end-of-season awards which already includes the conference trifecta: A-10 Pitcher of the Year, A-10 All-Conference First Team and A-10 All-Academic Team.
