ARLINGTON, Va. – The George Washington baseball team picked up a much-needed 11-5 win over Saint Joseph's on Sunday afternoon, positioning the Revolutionaries to make a final push towards the Atlantic 10 Championship. The GW Revs move to 26-24 overall and 13-14 in conference play, sitting in a four-way tie for the final two spots in the postseason.

After SJU launched a solo home run in the top of the second, GW grabbed the lead in the home half of the inning, plating three runners. Charlie Walsh drove in the first off an RBI single to right field, scoring Ty Acker from third base. Ellis Schwartz was responsible for the other two, lacing a double down the left field line, scoring both Cristino Tufano and Walsh to give GW the lead for good.

The Buff & Blue added to the advantage in the third when Sam Gates tallied an RBI on an infield single. GW broke it open in the fifth, scoring four more runs to make it 8-1 in the final home game of the 2025 season. Gates picked up two more RBIs off a single through the right side, while Tufano picked up his lone RBI off a sacrifice fly. Schwartz put a cap on the inning after being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

The teams traded runs in the sixth, and SJU added two more in the seventh to make it 9-4. The Buff & Blue stretched the lead again, this time getting some help from the Hawks' defense with an errant throw to the plate from center field. After Charlie Rogan tallied an RBI on a sacrifice fly, the wild throw allowed Tufano to round third and score from second base, giving GW its 11^th run of the day. Saint Joseph's got one back in the ninth, but it wasn't nearly enough to mount a comeback.

The Revolutionaries are back in action tomorrow at Georgetown in Tysons, VA, home of the Atlantic 10 Championship, for the team's final midweek contest of the season. First pitch is slated for 5:00 p.m. GW wraps up the regular season next weekend with a pivotal series at Saint Louis. The series opens on Thursday and concludes on Saturday, with all three games carried live on ESPN+.
