WASHINGTON – Head coach Ganiyat Adeduntan is excited to announce five members of her coaching staff ahead of the 2025-26 season. Joining the Revolutionaries as assistant coaches are John Hampton, Brianna Finch, Sherill Baker and Macey Hollenshead. Lauren Coleman arrives in Foggy Bottom as the program's Director of Basketball Operations.
"I'm really excited to announce five additions to my coaching staff ahead of the 2025-26 season," said Adeduntan. "The wealth of experience and knowledge that this group brings to GW will not only help elevate the program but will also be an invaluable resource to our student-athletes. Our values are aligned, and our commitment and passion for excellence are unmatched. What I love most about this group of staff members is that they are humble and hungry with a heart and passion for serving and developing student-athletes holistically. I look forward to working with each of them as we work enthusiastically to become league leaders on the court and in the classroom."
John Hampton – Assistant Coach
Joining GW after a three-year stint at Rutgers, Hampton brings a wealth of coaching experience to the Buff & Blue. While with the Scarlet Knights, Hampton worked directly with Rutgers' wings and centers, while also serving as the team's defensive specialist. Under his tutelage, Rutgers saw one player reach the 1,000-career-point threshold, helping her to the 28th-most points in program history. During his first season in 2022-23, Hampton, along with Head Coach Coquese Washington, laid the foundation for a strong team culture both on and off the court. He helped guide the program to its 1,000th win all-time, becoming just the 22nd Division I team and the third Big Ten team to reach that mark.
No stranger to the A-10, Hampton spent seven seasons with Saint Joseph's from 2015-21. After starting as an assistant, Hampton was elevated to the program's Assistant Head Coach in 2018, working directly under longtime Head Coach Cindy Griffin. During his time on Hawk Hill, Hampton led St. Joe's to two postseason berths, the 2018 Atlantic 10 title game and a WNIT victory over the Big East's Seton Hall. His guidance helped four Hawks earn All-Conference awards over his tenure.
Hampton's résumé also includes head coach experience, serving in that role with Clarkson University from 2010-14. His 2013-14 team finished with the most wins the program had seen in over a decade, and he also coached six players to all-conference awards, headlined by the 2012-13 Liberty Rookie of the Year. His players also achieved success in the classroom, with 10 earning All-Liberty Academic Team honors.
As a player, Hampton was a walk-on at Mansfield University before breaking out and earning the team's MVP award in 2007 and 2008. He was also honored at the conference level, earning a selection to the PSAC All-Conference team as a senior.
Hampton earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Mansfield in 2008. He also graduated with his Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from SUNY-Potsdam in 2010.
Brianna Finch – Assistant Coach
With over 20 years of coaching experience, Finch joins the GW women's basketball staff after most recently serving as the Associate Head Coach at Boston University for two seasons. Finch spent four years in total with the Terriers, working in her first two seasons as an Assistant Coach and the program's Recruiting Coordinator before being elevated to the associate role. Under her guidance, the Terriers reached new heights, capturing the team's first Patriot League Regular Season title in 2022-23, and helping lead the program to consecutive 20-win seasons in 2022-23 and 2023-24. Boston U also set a Patriot League record with 17 regular-season conference wins in 2022-23, winning those consecutively for the conference's longest winning streak in league play as well.
Not only did Finch help garner team success with Boston U, but she also helped recruit and develop multiple players who collected individual accolades. This included mentoring Caitlin Weimer, the 2024 Patriot League Player of the Year, two-time Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year in 2023 and 2024, and two-time Patriot League First Team selection in 2023 and 2024. She also helped develop Alex Giannaros, who led all of Division I in three-point percentage in 2022-23, was a three-time Patriot League All-Conference selection, a member of the Patriot League All-Rookie team in 2022 and currently ranks sixth in program history in career scoring.
Prior to her time with Boston U, Finch spent a season in the Atlantic 10, serving as an Assistant Coach and Director of Player Development at Davidson. While with the Wildcats, Finch assisted with opponent scout preparation, film analysis, player development and recruiting. She was also active within the program off the court, directing the team's "Cats' Care: Social Awareness Initiatives Campaign," which helped those affected by homelessness, food insecurity, domestic violence and breast cancer.
With over 18 years as a collegiate assistant at every level, Finch was named one of the Fifty Most Impactful Assistant Coaches by Silver Waves Media in 2024. She also served as Head Coach of the Lemvig Basketball Club, a professional team competing in the Dameligaen in Denmark, and as Head Coach at NCAA Division II New Mexico Highlands from 2014-16.
Finch graduated from Sonoma State University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. She earned her Master of Arts in Human Performance and Sport in 2018 from New Mexico Highlands.
Sherill Baker – Assistant Coach

Baker oversaw all team defense and schemes, while also executing scouting reports and analyzing game film.
Before arriving in D.C., Baker spent three seasons with Georgia State as an assistant and was elevated to the program's Recruiting Coordinator in her final year. Baker's guidance helped four players earn all-conference selections while also developing the skills of the 2019 ASUN Freshman of the Year.
Prior to working at Georgia State, Baker also worked as an assistant at Kennesaw State from 2015-19, coaching three all-conference selections, two ASUN Freshman of the Year Award winners and three all-academic awardees as well. Baker got her collegiate coaching career started in 2012 as a Video Coordinator and Director of Basketball Services at Auburn. After two seasons, she was quickly elevated to an assistant coach role from 2014-16.
Baker was a decorated player, graduating from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2006. After a standout collegiate career, which included the SEC Defensive Player of the Year Award and a First-Team All-SEC selection, Baker was the 12th overall selection in the 2006 WNBA Draft by the New York Liberty. Her professional career spanned four years in the WNBA, and she played for multiple professional teams overseas as well.
Macey Hollenshead – Assistant Coach
Hollenshead joins the GW coaching staff after spending three seasons with Coach Adeduntan at Colgate from 2022-25. While with the Raiders, Hollenshead helped the program reach new heights, including a berth in the "Super 16" of the WNIT Tournament in 2024, back-to-back 20-win seasons and developing four all-conference guards. Her duties with Colgate as an assistant included developing individual workout plans, organizing player and team scouting reports, assisting in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes, developing the team's guards, running team social media accounts and coordinating community service projects.
Prior to arriving at Colgate, Hollenshead worked as an assistant coach with her alma mater, Fairfield, during the 2021-22 season. Hollenshead got her start in coaching at Seton Hill University in 2018, spending three seasons with the Griffins until 2021. Over her tenure, she served as a Graduate Assistant, Director of Basketball Operations and Assistant Coach, coaching two all-conference selections and an All-American. After departing Seton Hill, Hollenshead spent one year as an assistant at Shepherd from 2020-21, coaching the PSAC Player of the Year, who was also named an All-American that same season, and recruited the eventual NCAA Division II leader in scoring during the 2024 season.
As a player, Hollenshead spent four seasons at Fairfield, where she served as a team captain during her senior season in 2017-18. She appeared in 82 career games for the Stags, making 37 starts. She graduated from Fairfield in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Accounting, with minors in Sports Leadership and Management. She earned her Master of Business Administration degree in 2020 from Seton Hill with a focus on Forensic Administration.
Lauren Coleman – Director of Basketball Operations
Coleman arrives in Foggy Bottom as the program's Director of Basketball Operations after serving in the same role at Colgate during the 2024-25 season. During her season with the Raiders, Coleman also held an Assistant Coach title along with her duties behind the scenes. She not only assisted in on-court coaching and player development but also oversaw all team travel, program budget management and helped foster a positive team culture.
Before her stint with Colgate, Coleman was an Assistant Coach with North Platte Community College from 2022-24. Her stint was a successful one, helping guide the program to a Region IX Championship in 2023-24, while leading the defense to just 53.1 ppg allowed, the lowest the program had seen in the five previous seasons. Along with her coaching duties, Coleman was also North Platte's Assistant Director of Multicultural Leadership and Engagement, where she spearheaded the development of campus events and created a dynamic student experience. Over her tenure, North Platte saw student participation in campus events rise 20%, a direct reflection of her work behind the scenes.
