
Gymnastics Earns Highest Road Score of 2025 at Towson’s Chellie Calloway Invitational

Towson, Md. – Posting the highest road score of the season on Tuesday evening, GW gymnastics earned a 195.800, taking fourth place behind host Towson, Penn and West Virginia. Kendall Whitman and Delaney DeHaan highlighted GW's evening, winning the floor competition with two 9.900s.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Kicking things off on bars, Lola Montevago continued to shine on the apparatus, chipping in a 9.850 to lead the Buff & Blue. Deana Sheremeta had another great performance in her first season on bars, tying her personal-best 9.825. Leadoff performers Delaney DeHaan and Sophia Tyeryar each earned a 9.725, while captain Rachel Katz tallied a 9.775. Madi McMullen finished things off with a 9.050; the GW Revs finished the first rotation with a score of 48.900.
Moving to the beam, Montevago earned another 9.850 to lead the Revolutionaries on another rotation. Whitman and Maya Peters each received a 9.800 for their performances, while DeHaan and Sheremeta were close behind with two 9.775s. In the anchor spot, Nancy Kiner finished with a 9.675. On the beam, GW finished with a 49.000, to mark the third time breaking the 49-point threshold on the event.
The Buff & Blue dazzled on floor, with standout 9.900 performances from both Whitman and DeHaan. Deana Sheremeta earned a 9.800 while Kylie Kazmierski matched her personal-best 9.775 set earlier in the season. McMullen made her floor debut for GW with a 9.750, and Kasey Burke received a 9.675. Through three, GW finished with a rotation score of 49.125, its highest event score of the night.
Closing out on the vault, DeHaan led the way with a 9.850, and Montevago continued to impress, earning a new personal-best 9.825 in just her fourth meet competing on vault at the collegiate level. In the leadoff position, Whitman chalked up a 9.725; Burke earned a 9.700 for her vault, while Katz and Zoe Safran each collected a 9.675. The Revolutionaries closed the evening with a 48.775 rotation score en route to earning the 195.800 final score.
