
Gymnastics Faces Reigning National Champion LSU in Dual Meet

WASHINGTON -Â The GW gymnastics team is set to make the trip south to Baton Rouge, La. to face the reigning national champion and No. 2 LSU Tigers in a dual meet. Action in the Raising Cane's River Center is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m. EST. AMONG THE EAGL'S BEST
The Revolutionaries are coming off a key EAGL matchup, defeating the UNH Wildcats in a dual meet, 195.325-194.200, while also claiming victory in each individual rotation. Heading to this weekend's action, GW sits at No. 35 on the Road to Nationals rankings, with an NQS of 195.270. The GW Revs check in at second in the EAGL, behind only the reigning EAGL champion Towson Tigers, who have a 195.470 NQS. Individually, Delaney DeHaan leads the conference in both vault (9.855 NQS) and the all-around competition (39.040 NQS) and sits tied for first in floor. Nationally, DeHaan sits at No. 30 on vault and No. 42 in the all-around. First-year Lola Montevago sits in the top five in the conference on both bars and beam, while junior Deana Sheremeta and graduate senior Kendall Whitman also occupy the EAGL leaderboard on beam and floor. Boasting an NQS of 197.540 to sit No. 2 in the nation, LSU is coming off a road meet with SEC foe Kentucky, in which the Tigers posted a 197.200 to narrowly defeat the Wildcats. LSU posted its season-high against Oklahoma, earning a 198.0500. The Tigers sit second in the SEC, only behind top-ranked Oklahoma.Â
