GOODYEAR, Ariz. - GW golf opened up its spring season at the Loyola Intercollegiate from Sunday-Tuesday and placed 17th in a competitive field of 19 teams at Palm Valley Golf club.

GW shot a 26-over 890 over the three days and were headlined by junior Rodrigo Barahona, who carded a pair of under-par rounds to finish t-13th individually with a 5-under 211. Barahona opened up with a pair of 69s on Sunday and Monday before posting a 73 in Tuesday's final round.

Richmond won the team event with a 29-under 835, 10 shots better than second place Boise State.

GW will be back in action again next Monday-Wednesday with the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate in Henderson, Nev., at Reflection Bay Golf Club.
