
Gymnastics Faces EAGL Opponents in Double Meet Weekend

WASHINGTON-Â After claiming a victory in the Lindsey Ferris quad invitational, GW gymnastics hits the road this weekend, traveling to the Towson Invitational on Friday evening before heading north to Philadelphia to face all four EAGL opponents on Sunday at Temple.Â

LAST TIME OUT
Hosting Yale, Fisk and Penn in its first home appearance of 2025, the Buff & Blue broke the 195 threshold to claim victory in the Lindsey Ferris Invite with a score of 195.350. Over the course of an exciting afternoon, three GW Revs claimed new personal bests: Delaney DeHaan earned new high scores on both the vault (9.875) and floor (9.900), and Deana Sheremeta earned a new 9.875 best on the beam, good for a top finish on the event. The event win and new career-best earned her the title of EAGL Specialist of the Week. First-year Lola Montevago dominated the uneven bars, claiming victory on the event with a 9.900; her performance on three events on Sunday earned her Rookie of the Week honors. Kendall Whitman continued to dominate the floor exercise on Sunday, earning an impressive 9.950 to win the apparatus, with DeHaan finishing closely behind.Â

Entering the double meet weekend, GW ranks No. 24 on floor, No. 30 on both vault and beam and No. 38 overall.Â

ON THE OPPONENTS

On Friday night, GW will meet EAGL opponents Towson, Temple and New Hampshire, in addition to William & Mary. The host and reigning EAGL champion Tigers have posted a season-high 195.600 at the Penn quad on Jan. 17.  The New Hampshire Wildcats travel to Maryland off a dual meet with LIU, in which the Wildcats posted a season-best 194.325 to win the dual. The Owls travel to Maryland after a dual with William & Mary, in which the Owls defeated the Tribe, 193.000-190.000.Â
On Sunday, the GW Revs will meet the LIU Sharks for the first time in 2025. LIU posted a season-best 191.900 vs. Temple on January 18.Â
