11 Softball Student-Athletes Named Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes

WASHINGTON - The George Washington University softball team had 11 student-athletes featured on the recent Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes list. It is the second-highest number of student-athletes to earn the honor in a single year in program history (behind 15 student-athletes in 2021).
Named to the list for the 2023-24 academic year were Ashley Corpuz, Maggie Greco, Lily Hanafin, Allison Heffley, Daniella Lew, Gabby Polsky, Abby Schaub, Cece Smith, Sidney Torres, Alexa Williams and Taylin Yankovich. Additionally, GW ranked 75th nationally as a team with a 3.54 team GPA.
A total of 8,054 collegiate student-athletes captured Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2023-24 academic year. The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. NCAA Division I led the way with 2,573 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2023-24. NCAA Division III followed with 2,285 and NCAA Division II with 1,510. NAIA and junior colleges came in with 873 and 808 student-athletes, respectively.
