Women's Volleyball Announces 2024 Regular Season Schedule

WASHINGTON – Under the guidance of third-year Head Coach and GW volleyball alumna Katie Reifert, the George Washington women's volleyball team is pleased to announce its 2024 regular season schedule. The Revolutionaries will open play on Friday, August 30th at the Charles E. Smith Center hosting UC Riverside at 6:00 p.m.
Prior to GW's season-opener, the Buff & Blue will participate in an exhibition match to fine-tune their skills for the regular season. On August 24, the GW Revs will travel to Williamsburg, Va. to face William and Mary for a 2 p.m. scrimmage.
Including GW's home opener against UC Riverside, the Revolutionaries will begin the 2024 campaign hosting the D.C. Challenge. In addition to UC Riverside, fellow D.C. foes Howard and American will join the GW Revs in the weekend tournament. Following the Challenge, GW will continue to play a 10-game non-conference slate. GW will host Hampton (Sept. 10, 6 p.m.), Rider (Sept. 13, 11 a.m.), and IU Indianapolis (Sept. 13, 6 p.m.). GW's road non-conference slate includes contests against Oakland (Sept. 6, 11 a.m.), Eastern Michigan (Sept. 6, 6:30 p.m.) and Marshall (Sept. 7, 11 a.m.) all in Ypsilanti, Mich. GW will also travel to McDonough arena to face Georgetown (Sept. 14, 4 p.m.) and to Dover, Del. to face NJIT (Sept. 20, 4 p.m.), Delaware St. (Sept. 21, 1:30 p.m.), and Harvard (Sept. 21, 4 p.m.).
The Revolutionaries will face an 18-game Atlantic 10 slate which begins on Sept. 27 against Duquesne at 6:00 p.m. in Pittsburgh. They will continue to face the Dukes on Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. GW will also travel to Fairfax to face DMV foe George Mason (Oct. 9, 6 p.m.), and will then travel to face reigning conference champion Dayton (Oct. 18, 7 p.m. and Oct. 19 p.m.). The rest of the year, George Washington will face VCU (Oct. 25, 6 p.m. and Oct. 26, 6 p.m.), and Rhode Island (Nov. 8, 5 p.m. and Nov. 9, 12 p.m.) on the road.
At the Charles Smith Center, GW will host nine A-10 matches, opening against Fordham (Oct. 4, 6 p.m. and Oct. 5, 2 p.m.). The Davidson Wildcats will then travel to face GW (Oct. 12, 2 p.m. and Oct. 13, 2 p.m.), followed by George Mason (Oct. 30, 6 p.m.). The home slate will conclude with A-10 opponents SLU (Nov. 1, 6 p.m. and Nov. 2, 2 p.m.) and Loyola Chicago (Nov. 15, 6 p.m. and Nov. 16, 1:00) traveling to Washington to challenge Reifert's squad.
The 2024 Atlantic 10 volleyball Championship will be played between Friday, Nov. 22 and Sunday, Nov. 24 in Dayton, Ohio.
