WASHINGTON - In a Senior Day celebration for Payton Lynch, Anneliese Silverman and back-to-back NCAA qualifier Kendall Whitman, the GW Revs accumulated 196.600 points to finish third.
Matched up with #22 Penn State, Rutgers and Towson, who hosted the Revolutionaries Friday night for GW's all-time program record-breaking 197.200, Penn State took first with a 196.875, Rutgers finished with a 196.825 and George Washington edged EAGL rival Towson, who finished with a 196.575.
GW started the day on vault and was paced by matching 9.850s from Kasey Burke, Rachel Katz and Sarah Zois.
Next up GDUB took to the bars, where Delaney DeHaan and Maya Peters registered squad-high 9.850s. Peters' mark was a career-high, as was Whitman's 9.825 on her Senior Day, as GW set a team season-high in the event. Peters then led the way again with a 9.875 on the beam, good for third place overall, GW's highest score of the day to that point.
That's when Lynch decided to mark her Senior Day in style, throwing down a career-high 9.875 as well to open the home team's turn on the floor. Marlee York followed with a career-high tying 9.850. Whitman then shut it down with a 9.925 to punctuate the afternoon, claiming second place overall in the quad meet and solidifying her second place standing in the all-around (39.300).
