Gymnastics Finishes Third at EAGL Championships

TOWSON, Md. - GW gymnastics wrapped up its season with a third-place finish at the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Championships on Saturday afternoon at Towson's TU Arena, posting a score of 195.800.
Towson topped the field with a 197.300, with New Hampshire in second (196.150), GW in third, Temple in fourth (195.600) and Long Island in fifth (194.975).
Kendall Whitman, who is in line for her third straight year of NCAA qualification, won the individual floor title with a 9.950. It marks the fourth straight year a GW gymnast has won the championship on floor with Whitman also accomplishing the feat in 2021.
Whitman also placed third on vault (9.850) and tied for second on beam (9.900). Kasey Burke, Anneliese Silverman and Deana Sheremeta shared third on floor with a trio of 9.875s. Maya Peters also tallied a podium finish with a 9.900 on beam, tying for second.
GW opened the day on vault and posted a 49.100 with Whitman's 9.850 leading the way. After a bye, the Buff & Blue moved to bars and posted a 48.125. Silverman tied her season-high in the event with a 9.800.
The GW Revs rebounded well in their final two events, beginning on beam with a 49.125 thanks to Whitman's career-high 9.900. GW finished strong on floor with a 49.425 with all six scores at 9.850 or better. Marlee York tied her career-high in the event with a 9.850 and Whitman went out on top with a 9.950.
Whitman finished second in the all-around with a 39.375 while Silverman placed fourth with a 39.300.
