Gymnastics Travels to Towson Friday, Hosts Senior Day Sunday

WASHINGTON - GW gymnastics wraps up the regular season with a pair of meets this weekend. First, the Buff & Blue will travel to Towson on Friday for a tri-meet with the Tigers and William & Mary at 6 p.m.
Then, GW will welcome #22 Penn State, Rutgers and Towson to the Smith Center on Sunday for Senior Day at 1 p.m. The quad meet will be broadcast on ESPN+.

GW went toe-to-toe with some of the top programs in the country last weekend, taking on #3 LSU and #14 Auburn, in addition to Texas Woman's. For their efforts, the GW Revs came away with 195.100 points, finishing third in the quad meet behind LSU (198.425) and Auburn (197.050).
First-year Delaney DeHaan was named the EAGL's Rookie of the Week after tallying a 9.875 on beam at LSU, matching her career-high and leading the team in the event. DeHaan has scored a 9.800 or higher in her last three meets, finding her stride late in her rookie season.

Towson is a familiar foe for George Washington, having gone head-to-head on three occasions prior to the two meets this weekend. GW has gotten the better of the Tigers in the last two meetings, including a season-high of 196.625 at the last home meet on Feb. 16. Towson is currently first in EAGL, and 30th nationally, with a NQS of 196.525.
Friday will also be the fourth faceoff with William & Mary for GW. The Revolutionaries have topped the Tribe in all three prior meetings. W&M is seventh in the GEC, and 65th nationally with a NQS of 193.190.
Penn State visits Foggy Bottom with a #22 national ranking and a NQS of 196.755. Kayla McElligott was named the Big Ten co-Freshman of the Week after consecutive all-arounds of 39.350 in two meets last week.
Rutgers is 10th in the Big Ten, and 48th nationally, with a NQS of 195.465. The Scarlet Knights will compete in a tri-meet on Friday with Penn and Yale before making the trip to D.C. on Sunday.
